At IBC trade show this week, several people were talking about an RDK Lite version? What is that?

    I want to know what RDK lite is. 


    And I have a question.  If the STB need not support Browser, means no need HTML5, Can I remove WPE from RDK?

      Hi Unknown User (liujh) 

      The term may be referring to have a RDK version with smaller size and memory foot print. Similar initiatives are under progress.

      Browser can be removed if the device doesn't support, but still wpeframework and related dependencies will be required as current RDK clients use Thunder  as application framework.
