For development purposes, a Windows or Linux laptop with the latest hardware configuration is recommended. XConf has been run locally using both Windows 7 and 10.
In production, XConf can run on physical servers or virtual machines (VM). A typical instance would be a VM with 4 CPU's and 8 GB RAM.
Depending on the number of devices that will be calling XConf, several XConf Data Service servers may be required. They can be placed behind a load balancer. Multiple data centers or availability zones may be used for redundancy and high availability.
One or two XConf Admin UI servers are sufficient since the Admin UI is used only to change the configuration.
The Cassandra Database should be deployed to a few servers for redundancy. The typical specs would be 8 CPU's, 32 GB RAM, and 200GB disk.
