Scope

Scope of this prebeta engineering release if for RDK-B community to explore and understand RDK-B running on Banana pi R4 with the existing features working . This is just an early access

FAQ

  • Can i use this release for production - No this is just for understanding
  • Does it cover all features - As of now all minimal use cases been covered.end to end use cases can be covered in 2025q1 official release
  • what is the difference between prebeta engineering release and beta engineering release - prebeta is just an early access whoever want to try.Beta release is for all community member to try
  • what release version i can use for deployment - Only 2025q1 official release if for deployment
  • Can i share this prebeta release with my OEM's/Operators/SI's/SoC's - You are free to share
  • Can i contact rdk team if i have any queries/to give any feedback - Yes
  • Is this Prebeta engineering release fully tested - No,Just a developer testing done

Build instructions

  •  repo init -u https://code.rdkcentral.com/r/reference/manifests -m bpi4_tags/rdkb-bpi-extsrc-2024Q3.xml -b master
     repo sync -j`nproc` --no-clone-bundle
     MACHINE=bananapi4-rdk-broadband source meta-cmf-bananapi/setup-environment-refboard-rdkb
     bitbake rdk-generic-broadband-image

Known issues

  • Mediatek driver support only single wiphy design.we are architecting rdk-wifi-hal to support single phy,current it is under developement and will be ready in Beta release
