Introduction

  • CcspHomeSecurity component supports HNAP (Home Network Administration Protocol)

  • HNAP is an HTTP-SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) - based protocol that allows advanced programmatic configuration and management of devices connected to Home Network

Overview

  • CcspHomeSecurity component uses socket programming to communicate with Home Security devices where CcspHomeSecurity acts as a server and accepts different requests from device clients

  • HTTP requests from client can be a GET or POST

  • CcspHomeSecurity parses the HTTP request header and decides whether authentication is required or not. If required, the client has to provide valid authentication as part of HTTP header.

  • It is necessary for the client to make a HNAP request and provide SOAPAction field (e.g. http://purenetworks.com/HNAP1/GetDeviceSettings) as part of HTTP request.

  • Supported SOAP action methods:

- GetDeviceSettings

- SetBridgeConnect

  • According to request actions CcspHomeSecurity uses Message-Bus to GET or SET device related details

  • Details are formatted to SOAP message encoded using XML and the message is sent as response to the client

  • After proper validation of request field the Server finally sends the HNAP response to the client

  • No labels
